Sawyer Fredericks

Americana singer-songwriter, Sawyer Fredericks, hailing from a farm in central New York, began playing local farmers markets, open mics, and iconic New York venues at the age of 13. With his deep, beyond-his-years original lyrics and melodies, soulful vocals, and powerful live performances, Sawyer seemed an unlikely match for reality tv, but he won over audiences to win season 8 of NBC’s The Voice.

Fredericks released his major label debut, A Good Storm, with Republic Records, an impressive blend of soulful Folk, blues, and rock, entirely self or co-written. He chose to go independent for Hide Your Ghost (2018). Fully written and produced by Fredericks, HYG sheds the high gloss major label treatment and stays true to his honest stripped-down style.

With song premieres in People Magazine, American Songwriter, DittyTV and an album preview in Billboard, on May 1, 2020 Fredericks released his 4th album, Flowers For You. “With his second independent album, Flowers For You, Fredericks is expanding his sound even more, moving from bluesy folk into more expansive Americana, rock, and tinges of jazz,” remarks Chris Griffy in Concert Hopper. The album was included in No Depression Readers’ 50 Favorite Roots Music Albums of 2020. Two songs from Flowers For You won top awards from the 18th annual Independent Music Awards, “Born” won in the Folk/Singer-Songwriter category and “Amen” won the Vox Pop award in the Social Action Song category. Since the release of the album, “Born” has been in rotation on SiriusXM’s Coffee House channel and was covered by Amazon Music’s editorial ‘Fresh Folk and Americana’ playlist.

In January 2021, Sawyer released his rendition of the iconic “What A Wonderful World” with an accompanying animated video.

Sawyer’s latest release, The Golden Tree EP, came out in March 2023. The physical EP includes 5 tracks, 4 are available digitally, and feature his band and Sav Buist and Katie Larson of The Accidentals. The EP release was preceded by a video for the title track that features home footage of Sawyer playing guitar and singing as a child alongside recent scenes captured in NYC. It was directed by Jenny He who Sawyer previously collaborated with on his “Born” video off his 2020 Flowers For You album.

Sawyer and band returned to the road with a two-part tour in March and May of 2023 with Chastity Brown, stopping at the City Wineries in Boston, Nashville, Chicago, and NYC as well as The Music Hall in Portsmouth, NH and Ayurprana Listening Room in Asheville, among others. Prior to the tour, Sawyer showcased as a duo with his bass player Gannon Ferrell at Folk Alliance in Kansas City, MO in February. In September, his annual Sawyertoga weekend at Caffe Lena sold-out both nights.

Marvelous experience

5.0/ 5

We went to this program with some doubts. People would ask me “Why New Jersey? what´s there?”. My answer was: “We chose because it was convenient for my mother”. I hope to go back next year, and if I am asked again “Why New Jersey?” I will answer “Because this is one of the BEST run programs I have ever seen, in one of the most confortable setting I have ever been to!!”. Matti runs a flawless operation, and the hotel is a perfect place for a Pessach program. Thank you Matti, thank you Leisure Time Tours and Robert!

Just wanted to say thank you again for all your hard work making Pesach at the Ocean Place an incredible experience. The first thing my kids said when they got Home was “I wish we were still on the Pesach program” they made great friends and great memories. The food was abundant and delicious, a variety of every type of food and the waiters were so kind and patient. There were fun activities every day! For kids and adults too! There is no where else our family would be for Pesach than the Ocean Place resort !!!

Wonderful stay for a family with 4 generations

5.0/ 5

Our stay with Leisure Time Tours at the Ocean Place Resort was wonderful. We had 4 generations ranging from age 93 down to 4 months attending and everyone had a great time. Matty was wonderful earlier in the year when we reserved our rooms and offered us very useful advice and was able to put all of us on the same floor which was nice for everyone. The food throughout Pesach was delicious, abundant and there were many choices for each meal. Healthy food for those that wanted it and sweets and snacks for those that preferred that. The camp for our grandkids was great and our grandkids eagerly attended. Kudos and thank you to Ally and all of the counselors. The lecturers and entertainment were enjoyable. The crowd is diverse and people felt comfortable at all levels. The hotel is beautiful and right on the beach and the boardwalk. Any small issues were addressed by the wait staff, Matty, Marla and Moshe (who was in charge of the tea room area) who were all available and accessible. We are looking forward to coming back next year.

Best food & allergy friendly

5.0/ 5

Already missing Leisure Time Tours and our fabulous Pesach 2023 experience at the Ocean Place Resort. Everything from the food, to the speakers, to the staff, was incredible, and created a warm and perfect environment to spend the chag with family. I would also like to give a special shout-out to Peter, Christian and Edwin in the kitchen. As the parents of a child with severe food allergies, going to a Pesach program seemed like an impossibility, and we felt extremely anxious about what the food situation could possibly look like. But from the first conversation with Peter a few weeks before we arrived, we felt reassured that we were in excellent hands. The personal care continued when we arrived, and the staff were beyond kind, accommodating and careful, meeting with us multiple times a day, preparing special meals on separate cookware, and above all, making us feel as if it was their pleasure instead of the burden it could have been. It truly took our already wonderful experience to another level, and we are so grateful.

It was an amazing Pesach

Leisure time feedback We had a great experience with Leisure Time over Pesach 2023. I specifically want to highlight how incredible the food choices were. I hadn’t been on a Pesach program in years and was concerned before we got to the hotel about what I could/would want to eat over the holiday. I was so incredibly grateful for how many delicious, nutritious and healthy options available at every meal. It was incredible and really enhanced the Pesach experience. Thank you to all the staff at Leisure Time for a great Pesach!!

Leisure Time Tours should be highly commended on running a beautiful Passover program

5.0/ 5

Leisure Time Tours should be highly commended on running a beautiful Passover program–The food was excellent as were the services.  We have been going to Passover programs for many years and this one was definitely one of the best.  The only complaint that I have is that it was a very long walk for me from the elevators to the ballrooms–.As I am in my hundredth year, I found it a  long distance to hike 3 to 4 times a day–Best wishes for the coming season and all your other programs.

It was great! We thank everyone for making it great for us.  The staff, without exception, was friendly, cheerful and helpful.  Our waiters, Luciano and Santiago, went beyond their job description, and despite some slight language difficulties, were just wonderful.   We are already looking forward, G’d willing, to come again with you for another memorable Pesach.

What an Amazing Pesach Experience at Oceans Resort !!!!!

5.0/ 5

Our family of 10 joined Leaisure Time Tours’ Pesach program 2023 at Oceans Place Resort and Spa in Long Branch and we had a WONDERFUL time. Every aspect from planning, to food, service, camps, and programs were great! Matty, who was the program director was so easy to work with. We got the rooms we wanted, the dining room location we wanted, everything I had asked for! Marla was in charge of the food/dining rooms and she just nailed it!!!! The food was abundant, healthy and fresh. There were such wonderful food options. There was an omlet station, sable, white fish, salmon and fruit for breakfast. Lunch had many salad choices, fresh soup choices, as well as fish that was fresh and well made. There was even Ahi Tuna steaks, chilean sea bass, roasted veggies at all meals. My daughter loved the Ahi Tuna steaks and the chef made it for her any meal she wanted it even when it wasn’t on the menu. Dinners had excellent appetizers, soups, and choices of meat (prime rib, short ribs, steaks..) chicken (capons, cornish hens…), and fish (bronzino, sea bass…), and a vegan option ( the portebello mushrroms were excellent). Meals were served with roasted vegetables like aspargus, brocolli, potatoes. The deserts were excellent and artisen and there were always fruit options. Marls spent an enormous amount of time refining the menu to make sure the food was healthy, fresh, and very tasty!! The coffee and slushy stations were lovely. The servers and all the Leisure time tour staff were so kind, available and helpful! For example, I can’t eat dairy and every meal my server gave me a list of the options that didn’t have dairy so I could eat it. My granddaughter wanted french fries almost every meal so when we came to the table there was always a plate of french fries waiting for her! As for the camps well, Ally nailed it. The counselors were wonderful. The camp program was wonderful! My grandkids loved going to camp which gave us relaxing mornings and afternoons. The exercise program designed by Marla were great to attend. The lecturers were knowledgeable and the lecture topics interesting. The tea room was clean and always had healthy food options. The Leisure Time Tour staff took care of everything even providing the most amazing weather. We were in a resort on the beach in Long Branch and chol Hamoed and the last days were 75-88 degrees. My family was able to walk the beach, play in the sand, and even get their feet wet! Kudos Matty and Marla!! One last memory. I was outside laying on a lounge chair reading on chol hamoed. It was sunny and 80 degrees. I started to get hot and wanted to go inside to get something to cool me off. I started to get off the chair, looked up, and low and behold, there were servers walking around handing out lemon sorbets that were set in lemons! They handed me a sorbet and I proceeded to put my feet back on the chair and continued reading. That was awesome.!Thank you Matty, Marla, and Ally and the whole staff from Leisure Time Tours for putting together such a wonderful Pesach Program for me, my family, and the thousand of other participants!!!
